General

    • Not at this time.

    • Cafes, libraries, and parks within the service zone (El Segundo, Hawthorne, Lawndale, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and other cities in LA County).

    • Samantha has a suggested list of cafes, libraries, and parks available in case students don’t already have a specific location in mind.

    Note: Please coordinate a location with Samantha before an in-person session or service.

    • Samantha primarily serves the cities of El Segundo, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Lawndale, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach.

    • However, depending on availability, students located within LA County can still book in-person and virtual sessions and services.

  • There is a minor fee for rescheduling on short notice.

    • Within 24 hours of a session or essay pick-up:

      Students will be charged $3.20, due at the rescheduled session or service.

    • Zoom or Google Meet.

1-on-1 Tutoring

    • $32/hour for elementary, middle school, high school, and college students.

    • $32 per 40-minute session for preschoolers and kindergarteners.

  • For New Students:

    1. First, request a free consultation here.

    2. Then, meet briefly with Samantha for your virtual consultation (via Zoom or phone call).

    3. Finally, schedule your tutoring session here.

  • It varies by student.

    • Some students work best with pre-planned lessons. Others work best with greater fluidity.

    • Samantha works with her students to build an approach that best suits their individual learning styles.

  • Generally, no.

    • Samantha does not assign outside homework unless older students specifically request it.

    • Some students learn best through project-based learning. If Samantha assigns a project to the student, then all project-related work will be done during sessions.

Group Tutoring

    • $20/hour (per student).

    1. Gather a group of 2 to 5 students.

      • All students should be in the same age group or grade level.

    2. Decide on a shared goal.

      • Some examples of shared goals include completing a study guide, reviewing a low-scoring test, or reviewing a specific topic, such as graphing equations.

    3. Have one student from the group reach out to Samantha.

      • New students can request a free consultation here.

Homework Help Mini-Sessions

    • $16 per 30-minute session.

  • For New Students:

    3. Finally, schedule your mini-session here.

    • Please schedule a 60-minute private tutoring session here.

    • Mini-sessions are ideal for students who:

      • Are struggling with a specific question or problem.

      • Don’t know how to start or approach an assignment.

Drop-Off Essay Reviews

    • Short Essay Review (1-4 pages), $20.

    • Mid-Length Essay Review (5-9 pages), $30.

    • Long Essay Review (10-14 pages), $40.

    1. A student books a 5 to 10-minute essay drop-off.

      • During this drop-off, the student clarifies what type of feedback they are looking for and determines a pick-up date.

    2. Samantha reviews and annotates the essay, providing specific feedback that aligns with the student’s goals.

    3. The student arrives for the scheduled 5 to 10-minute pick-up.

      • During this pick-up, Samantha provides an overview of the feedback, highlighting specific next steps for the student to take in their revision process.

    Note: Drop-offs and pick-ups can be done in-person or virtually (Zoom, Google Meet, phone call).
